We presently pay 6.5% pa (on minimum monthly balance) and this is added to your contributions and all disbursed to you during the first week in December.

This is becoming a very popular product so contact us (phone 0508 613328 or local (Wellington) calls 5687 860) to get one started. (Some conditions do apply).

From the Office

We have enjoyed another great year at the Credit Union – we hope we have been able to help you in some way – and look forward to hearing from you next year.

From John, Liz and Christine – have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Successful New Year.

Chairman’s Christmas Message

Another year draws to a close, which means we are half way through our financial year. The credit union had another good year ending June 2003 providing an overall profit, which was returned to reserves. Total assets have been consistently above $4.5 million this year. Payroll deposits and loans, both in quantity and value, have grown markedly characterizing the fact that our members are truly supporting each other with their financial requirements. This is the basis of the credit union movement.

Remember you can always pay off your Christmas credit card debt by taking up a cheaper loan with your Credit Union. Contact the Office to talk terms and conditions.

During the coming year we hope to gain more benefits by continuing to be part of the New Zealand Fire Services Associated Agencies, benefits are starting to flow in both directions. The Strategic and Business Plans are to be reviewed April/May 2004 focusing on our long term direction. The ever increasing statutory
demands on credit union directors are to be addressed with an emphasis on more Director Training.

Keep a lookout for news of the r-branding of the Firefighters Credit Unon and the launch of a redeveloped website.

lastly, on behalf of the Board and staff, we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Roger Callister
Chairman
